Who iTheatrics was created by Timothy A. McDonald, founding director of Music Theatre International’s Broadway Junior Collection, and a noted playwright and director.  The iTheatrics team includes Artistic Director Marty Johnson, Resident Choreographer Steven G. Kennedy, Project Manager Susan Fuller, Master Teacher Cynthia Ripley and Resident Music Director Lindsay Weiner.
What iTheatrics uses the transformative power of the arts to make the world a better place.  The company adapts existing Broadway and West End musicals for schools to perform with all age levels including elementary, middle, and high school students.  iTheatrics also creates a teacher’s “ShowKit” which offers educators a toolkit of resources to help them successfully stage a musical in their communities including Choreography DVDs, Accompaniment CDs, and Director’s Guides featuring curriculum connections.  Clients include Music Theatre International, Disney Theatrical Productions and MacMillan/McGraw-Hill.  iTheatrics also develops new musicals for family audiences (also called TYA titles) such as The Musical Adventures of Flat Stanley, Jim Henson’s Emmet Otter’s Jug-Band Christmas, The Phantom Tollbooth and Roald Dahl’s James and the Giant Peach. These shows enjoy national tours with producing partners such as IntraMusic Theatricals and The John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts, and are made available for schools to perform as Broadway Junior titles. iTheatrics Junior Teaching Intensives provide professional development for teachers in the area of musical theatre, and its Junior Theater Academy provides young performers with an innovative outlet for developing their skills as artists.  iTheatrics also produces the Junior Theater Festival, the world’s largest festival exclusively dedicated to elementary and middle school students and musical theatre.
Where The iTheatrics headquarters in New York City includes the company’s administrative offices, a laboratory for developing new works, and a lovely green space for reflection, entertainment and watching things grow.
