What is JTF?
The Junior Theater Festival is the largest celebration of musical theater for young people held annually in Atlanta, Georgia and is produced by iTheatrics and Theater of the Stars.
When is JTF?
JTF is held every Martin Luther King Jr. weekend just north of downtown Atlanta at the Cobb Galleria Centre.
Why should my group attend JTF?
JTF gives everyone who attends the opportunity to experience the transformative power of musical theater through watching performances, attending workshops, and making connections with other musical theater groups from around the world.
Who attends JTF?
Any school, after school or community theater group that has done or is planning to do a Broadway JR. or KIDS collection show.
If I’m not part of a group, can I come to the festival?
Teachers, Directors and any adult who works with young people in musical theater can attend JTF on the Professional Development Track. Students must be part of a group.
Is there a one day pass?
No, there is not a one day pass available. Everyone who attends the festival must either pay the $135 participation fee and attend with a group or pay the $250 registration fee and attend on the Professional Development Track.
Is there an age requirement for participating students?
Any student between the ages of 8 and 18 is welcome to attend and perform with a group.
What size is a typical group?
20-40 participants, but we’ve had groups as small as 10 and as large as 100.
What does a group do at JTF?
Groups perform a 15 minute selection of one Broadway JR. or KIDS Collection show for adjudication, participate in workshops specifically designed for student performers, and watch outstanding performances by their peers.
Does my group have to perform?
No. We welcome any group to JTF who is interested in musical theater and wants to learn more about MTI’s Broadway JR. and KIDS Collection.
Is there programming for my technical theater students?
Of course! Students interested in behind the scenes work attend specialized workshops and are able to present their achievements in the Technical Theater Showcase.
How do I register?
If you are registering a group, fill out the registration form with estimated numbers of participants and return to iTheatrics with your $500 non-refundable registration fee. If you are registering on the Professional Development track, fill out the registration form and return to iTheatrics with the $250 participation fee.

What forms of payment are accepted?
We accept Mastercard, Visa and American Express as well as checks and money orders made out to iTheatrics.
When do I need to register by?
Registration opens for returning groups on April 1st. New groups can register beginning May 1st. Registration closes when all slots are full which happens early. Professional Development participants can register until November 1st.
I filled out my registration form. Now what?
Our festival coordinator will review your registration materials and email you when you have been officially accepted into the festival. This typically takes 2-3 weeks from the time of receipt. If you are not accepted, your registration fee will not be processed.
After I receive my acceptance, what else do I have to do?
In the beginning of October, you will receive a packet of forms that will need to be filled out and returned to iTheatrics. These forms and full payment are due November 1st.
